Newborn Photography

You want to get on the calendar as soon as you have decided on your photographer. For most Moms they start looking during the second trimester. Once booked you will contact me after baby has arrived and we will set a date within 7-16days old. This time frame seems to be a sweet spot for newborn posing. 

After photographing newborns for over 14 years, I have a large collection of props needed for your session. I do recommend extra bottles, photoshoots can really work up an appetite. If nursing be sure to pack a bag with all your supplies and feel free to bring a pump if you prefer. I have an area set up that is comfortable and quiet. Also a pacifier is preferred during your session even if you are not using one at home or if baby doesn't seem to really care for them. It helps while posing to soothe for just a second. I do keep these on hand as well so don't feel like you have to run out and purchase just for your session. 

I will send a prep guide to hopefully help your little one prepare for his/her session the morning of. Also I do have lots of soothing methods that almost always work. If you notice your baby is having gas we can try a few methods to help like gas drops or a Windi. (If you do not have I highly recommend you get some) Sometimes babies just need some extra snuggles and feedings from Mom and that is ok. I take my time and follow babies lead. These sessions are not forced. If after a few hours I feel like baby is just over stimulated I will discuss having them come back in a day or two, but in my 14 years this has happened less than a handful of times. 

So we have completed your session, what happens now? Within a week you will receive a soft proof gallery online. Depending on your package you will choose your final images to be edited and ready to download. From here I will finalize all images and send them to you in your gallery. From the time you choose your images to receiving the final downloads it is usually within a week or two. I strive to be very quick as I know most are eager to share these precious photos of your baby. 

So you are trying to decide which session type is best for you? Some Mommas only want prop poses no naked. For those types of sessions the wrapped Mini would be perfect for you. I keep baby swaddled for the entire wrapped mini. Also if you are just wanting a handful of images again the wrapped mini would be best. 

If you are wanting the whole newborn session experience where you get naked poses, prop poses and semi swaddled poses then the Simply Baby session would include them all!! 

Yes, so if you get to the studio and we rock out all of babies wrapped poses but you decide you want naked baby poses we can definitely do that.
